Summary
Cybersecurity moves fast – sometimes too fast. Threats evolve, tools change, teams adapt, and the whole industry feels like it’s running in permanent “high alert” mode.
That’s why something simple – but rare – stands out:
People who choose to stay.
Five years. Ten years. Fifteen years.
In this industry, that’s not common. It’s meaningful.
And this year, more than a dozen ON2IT teammates reached those milestones — including Peter-Paul, Rob, Johan, Danny, Karel, Alex, Demetra, Joop, Jan, Joucke, Edward, Marijke, Emily, Jeroen, Stephanie, Daan, and Yifan.
If we had a “Long-Term Tenure Hall of Fame,” this would be a record-breaking class.
Why Choosing to Stay Matters
When someone chooses to stay year after year, it doesn’t just reflect loyalty – it reflects impact.
These teammates carry:
- context you can’t teach,
- instincts you can’t automate,
- and a depth of customer understanding only time creates.
They’ve lived through threat evolution, operational shifts, and platform changes – and they’ve shaped all of it. Their fingerprints are in our SOC, our Zero Trust playbooks, our processes, our culture, and our outcomes.
Customers feel the difference immediately:
fewer gaps, faster prevention, deeper trust.
Another way in which Peter-Paul in particular impacted the company: a coffee machine did not survive an encounter with him. Of course, legends aren’t flawless – they’re only human.
The coffee machine was easily fixed. (Cyber) resilience comes in many forms.
A Year of Milestones Worth Celebrating
This year we honor:
- A group marking 5 years – Danny, Karel, Alex, Demetra, Joop, Jan, Joucke, Edward, Marijke, Emily, Jeroen, Stephanie, Daan, and Yifan
- Several hitting 10 years – Rob and Johan
- And one teammate reaching 15 years – Peter-Paul
These years represent thousands of threats stopped, escalations handled, customers supported, and small decisions made every day that make ON2IT stronger than the day before.
Why People Choose to Stay
People don’t choose to stay for the perks or the job titles.
They stay because:
- the mission feels real,
- their work has purpose,
- and the team around them makes even tough days meaningful.
Choosing to stay isn’t passive – it’s a repeated decision.
And those decisions add up to the kind of stability customers trust long before a detection triggers or a report is delivered.
This is what makes ON2IT feel like more than just a place to work.
It becomes a place where people choose to contribute their best years.
Why These Colleagues Matter (A Reflection from Our CEO)
“This year, we celebrated 14 work anniversaries: one 15-year milestone, two 10-year milestones, and eleven 5-year milestones.
What matters most isn’t the numbers, though. It’s the people behind them. The ones who stay shape this place every day through their experience, their steadiness, and the care they bring to their work and to each other.
We’re proud to have you on the team and grateful for the impact you continue to make.”
— Marcel van Eemeren, ON2IT Cybersecurity Co-Founder and CEO
Looking Ahead to 2026
To everyone who chose to stay with us through another year: thank you.
You are a major reason ON2IT is trusted, steady, and ready for the future. You’re the backbone of our operations, the wisdom in our processes, and the quiet confidence behind our results.
As we close the year, we celebrate the people who choose this mission – and choose this team.
As we enter 2025, we keep building on everything you’ve helped create.
Here’s to another year of choosing well – together.
